Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
Personal Finance System (“the Application,” “we,” “us”) is a private personal-finance application operated for a single household. This policy explains what information the Application accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.
1. Scope
The Application is not a commercial product offered to the general public. It is operated for personal, household financial management. Access is restricted to the account owner.
2. Information we access
- Financial account data — account balances, transactions, holdings, and related details retrieved from financial institutions you choose to connect.
- Information you enter — budgets, categories, notes, goals, and other data you add directly.
We do not collect financial-institution login credentials. Credentials are entered directly with our data-aggregation provider and your institution; the Application never sees or stores them.
3. Plaid
The Application uses Plaid Inc. to connect to financial institutions and retrieve account information. By connecting an account, you authorize Plaid to access and transmit that data to the Application in accordance with Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy. Plaid’s handling of your data is governed by Plaid’s own policy.
4. How information is used
Information is used solely to provide the Application’s features to the account owner — displaying balances, categorizing transactions, tracking budgets, income, and net worth. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
5. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial information with third parties, except with the service providers required to operate the Application (such as Plaid and the infrastructure hosting the Application), and as required by law.
6. Storage and security
Data is stored in a private, access-controlled environment. We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention and deletion
Data is retained for as long as the account owner uses the Application. You may disconnect a linked institution at any time, and you may request deletion of stored data by using the contact details below.
8. Your choices
You control which institutions are connected and may revoke access at any time through the Application or directly with Plaid at my.plaid.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
